• Description : London: 19 October 2009 Flash Alert...(more)! Flash Alert! Flash Alert! Day six of the festival. Where is the rain? It has been a while since we got drenched at premiere. Last year at the festival we had hail, snow and worse. This year the only discomfort is a finger numbing chill. Two back to back premieres for me to cover and I will have to solicit help from a friend to keep my spot for the second one as the first finishes leaving me no time to spare. I head out at three pm to claim my spot at the main Odeon where the first, the Mayors Gala is taking place. The barriers arrive at three too but it is five before any crowd begins to gather. As dark descends and no extra arc lights come on I realise that is going to be a dark one. Should have brought my light. Please excuse the gloom dear viewer. Kerry Fox is in theatre around the corner, she is able to put in a brief appearance but spends plenty of time at the fanline as well as taking care of her media duties. Director Jane Campion and producer Jan Chapman attends. Ben Wishaw provides someone for the ladies to look at. He is happy to sign and pose with fans.
