Red paper hearts shot from tubes over the foyer, a lush red carpet motifed for the film, a giant screen, loads of screaming fans, no rain and two stars with obvious chemistry made this a lovely premiere. It was a mid morning start for me to secure a great spot, and a jolly afternoon aided by fellow fanliners who helped retain that spot during the inevitable comfort breaks. The crowds eventually swelled as the start approached. I was surrounded by folk from the USA attending their first premiere, some from Spain, and locals from Essex and Canary Wharf. Plenty of other places represented too. The giant screen and stage near the drop off point allowed stars and celebs to be interviewed where all could see and hear them. This is a good thing at premieres because everyone gets to see rather than a few. The screen was not in glorious HD so please excuse the lo def footage of the interviews. Once interviewed stars paraded up the carpet into the waiting arms of the media, paps and eventually the fans near me. Plenty of screaming and yelling too and that makes for a great atmosphere. Plenty of opportunities for signing, chatting and occasionally a two heads picture for a lucky few.
