• Description : London: 10 February 2009 Busy night...(more) tonight. Two press nights for new plays. Only about a quarter of the fifty or so major theatres in the West End stage non-musicals, so to have two new shows (Three Days of Rain / Touched) with press nights on the same evening is quite a coincidence. The weather was fine but cold. No rain. Yeehah. Still in a sling after a shoulder op, I hooked up with the usual suspects at the Apollo in Shaftesbury Avenue about six thirty to wait on the red carpet for the arrivals at Three Days of Rain. A light sprinkling of celebs showed up but I missed the star James McAvoy. As it was double dip night, we took the half mile downhill trip to the Trafalgar Studios to catch Sadie. Result. She popped out the back and was very happy to chat, sign and pose. But still no James McAvoy in the can. Since we had walked downhill to this theatre, the prospect of an uphill return journey on foot held little appeal for my buddies. So we took the bus back even though it takes five minutes longer than walking. That was an error. We arrived back at the Apollo just in time to see James and his missus climbing in to a silver taxi and away into the night. Grrrr. Keep checking back on this channel dear viewer. Later in the week this capturadora will emulate the Canadian Mounties. They always get their man, and I will. Eventually. Still I did get Sadie for you. Enjoy.
