Imam Hussain (a.s.) is the grandson of the Prophet Mohammed (s.a.w.). Here Mulla Bassim recites for Abo Fothlel Abbas (a.s.), the half-brother of Imam Hussain (a.s.) who gave everything he had away by being killed serving Imam Hussain (a.s.) and Islam. Abbas (a.s.) went to get water for the camp of thirsty women and children, and refused to drink despite days of thirst whilst his brother Imam Hussain (a.s.) was thirsty. Upon returning to the camp, his left hand was cut, and his right hand, and arrow was shot into his eye and he was hit on his head and thus fell to the desert sand dropping the flag. Abel Fothlel means "the father of virtues" Abbas (a.s.). This is because he displayed all the virtues known to man on that day of Ashoora (the tenth of Muharram), in Karbala.باسم الكربلائي Despite that Imam Hussain died over 1400 years ago, his martyrdom, struggle and tribulation is an inspiration to millions around the world today.
