• Description : Santiago de Cuba Fiesta de la Bande...(more)ra 2007 Por Miguel Noa Menéndez Santiago de Cuba, 31 dic. 07.- Nuevamente el céntrico Parque de Céspedes de esta hospitalaria ciudad sirvió de escenario propicio para que miles de santiagueros se dieran cita para despedir el 2007 y esperar unidos el nuevo año y el aniversario 49 del triunfo de la revolución cubana. El pueblo santiaguero acudió a la otrora Plaza de Armas de la Villa de Santiago de Cuba, a recordar su fundación en julio de 1515, así declaró a CMKC Digital, Eliades Quesada, quien, junto a Gelsis Vigil Morales, del Centro provincial de Casa de Cultura, ganaron el premio del mejor guión artístico para el espectáculo de la fiesta de la bandera en el 2007. La primera parte del espectáculo mostró las costumbres, tradiciones y raíces de Santiago de Cuba, desde que le otorgaran el título de Ciudad y la condición de muy noble y muy leal, rasgos que llegaron a través del canto coral, la danza y la trova. Agrupaciones como el coro Madrigalista, el Ballet Santiago, el Dúo Cohíba, Ecos del Tivolí interpretaron temas de Sindo Garay, Miguel Matamoros, Daniel Castillo y Francisco Repilado "Compay Segundo" y un bloque intermedio rindió homenaje a Electo Rosell, Chepín, y a figuras del patio como Enrique Bonne y Calixto Cardona, este último fallecido recientemente. No faltaron las estampas del Carnaval Santiago 2007 ni las pinceladas del Festival del Caribe, algunas proyecciones de esa fiesta del fuego dedicada a la Cultura de República Dominicana y la actuación del Folclórico Cocoyé.
