Hannah Montana, Mariah Carey hit U.S. singles chart
LOS ANGELES (Billboard) – Hannah Montana edged out Mariah Carey on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart Thursday, as Miley Cyrus' TV alter ego claimed her first top-10 entry.

"He Could Be the One" debu
ted at No. 10, just above Carey's "Obsessed," which debuted at No. 11. Hannah Montana also logged a No. 87 debut for "Ice Cream Freeze (Let's Chill)."

"Obsessed" marks Carey's 40th entry on the Hot 100, making her just the eighth woman in the chart's 51-year history to make 40 or more appearances. It is also her highest Hot 100 debut since 1998. the track comes from Carey's forthcoming album "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel,"

The Black Eyed Peas led the field for a third week with "I Gotta Feeling." Drake's "Best I Ever Had" rose one place to No. 2, swapping places with the Peas' "Boom Boom Pow." Keri Hilson's "Knock You Down," featuring Kanye West and Ne-Yo, remained at No. 4, and Sean Kingston's "Fire Burning" rose one place to No. 5.

Taylor Swift's "You Belong With Me" jumped three to No. 6, Lady GaGa's "LoveGame" fell two to No. 7, and Pitbull's "I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)" held at No. 8. Jeremih's "Birthday Sex" dropped two to No. 9.

Lady GaGa charts third No. 1 on Mainstream Top 40
NEW YORK (Billboard) – Lady GaGa has become the third recording artist in the 16-year history of the Mainstream Top 40 airplay chart to collect three No. 1 songs from a debut album.

"LoveGame" (Interscope
) rose from No. 2 to the top spot, marking Lady GaGa's third No. 1, after "Just Dance" (two weeks) and "Poker Face" (five weeks). The three songs appear on her top five Billboard 200 album, "The Fame." The set has sold 1.16 million copies to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

The dance-pop singer-songwriter, born Stefani Germanotta, joins just two prior artists in accomplishing the triumphant triple play.

In 1993-94, Ace of Base reigned consecutively on Mainstream Top 40 with three cuts from its debut set, "The Sign": "All That She Wants," the title cut (No. 1 for a chart-record 14 weeks) and "Don't Turn Around."

In 2002-03, Avril Lavigne repeated the feat with a trio of tracks from her debut release, "Let Go": "Complicated" (eight weeks), "Sk8er Boi" (one week) and "I'm With You" (four weeks).

On the Billboard Hot 100, "Just Dance" spent three weeks at No. 1, and "Poker Face" led for one frame. As of last week, "LoveGame" was bulleted at No. 5 on the Hot 100, its highest ranking to date.

Black Eyed Peas claim top 2 singles in U.S
NEW YORK (Billboard) – The Black Eyed Peas held on to the top two spots on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for a second week on Thursday.

"I Gotta Feeling" led the field, while "Boom Boom Pow&quo
t; followed at No. 2. The latter track ruled the Hot 100 for 12 weeks until "I Gotta Feeling" replaced it last week. Both come from the hip-hop act's album "The E.N.D.," which fell to No. 5 on the Billboard 200 Wednesday after three weeks at No. 1.

Elsewhere on the Hot 100, Drake's "Best I Ever Had" stayed at No. 3, Keri Hilson's "Knock You Down," featuring Kanye West and Ne-Yo, at No. 4, and Lady GaGa's "LoveGame" at No. 5.

Sean Kingston's "Fire Burning" rose one to No. 6, and Jeremih's "Birthday Sex" was also up one, to No. 7. Pitbull's "I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)" fell two to No. 8, and Taylor Swift's "You Belong With Me" rose two to No. 9. Linkin Park's "New Divide" slipped one to No. 10.

"Bubbly" singer Colbie Caillat claimed the top debut at No. 12 with "Falling For You," the first song from her forthcoming album "Breakthrough," due August 25.

"That's Not My Name" by the Ting Tings re-entered the Hot 100 at a new high of No. 45, bolstered by increased radio airplay and digital downloads.

On Billboard's Hot Digital Songs chart, Michael Jackson held down five of the top 10 slots, led by "Man in the Mirror" at No. 2. The Peas' "I Gotta Feeling" was No. 1.

Black Eyed Peas tops on U.S., Europe charts
LOS ANGELES (Billboard) – The Black Eyed Peas led Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart for a 10th week on Thursday, while Kings of Leon and Kenny Chesney soared up the rankings.

The Peas reigned with "Boom Bo
om Pow," the first single from their album "The E.N.D.," which was released in the United States on Tuesday. "Boom Boom Pow" also ended the 15-week reign on the European Hot 100 Singles chart of Lady Gaga's "Poker Face."

Back in the U.S., Kings of Leon's "Use Somebody" jumped 33 places to No. 19 after the band's performance of the song on the MTV Movie Awards sent downloads of the track up to 72,000 copies for the week.

Country star Chesney earned his highest ranking on the Hot 100 with "Out Last Night," which rose 44 places to No. 16 after his "Greatest Hits II" went up for digital sale.

"Hannah Montana" co-star Mitchel Musso scored the week's top debut with "Hey," which debuted at No. 70. The song is from his self-titled Disney debut album, which was released June 2.

In the top tier, Pitbull's "I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)" rose one to No. 2, Keri Hilson featuring Kanye West and Ne-Yo climbed four to No. 3 with "Knock You Down," and Jeremih stayed at No. 4 with "Birthday Sex."

Lady GaGa fell three to No. 5 with "Poker Face," but rose four to No. 6 with "Lovegame." Shinedown's "Second Chance" rose four to No. 7, as Beyonce's "Halo" fell two to No. 8.

Sean Kingston's "Fire Burning" smoldered at No. 9 while Jamie Foxx featuring T-Pain's "Blame It" fell five to No. 10.
