• Lady GaGa charts third No. 1 on Mainstream Top 40

  NEW YORK (Billboard) – Lady GaGa has become the third recording artist in the 16-year history of the Mainstream Top 40 airplay chart to collect three No. 1 songs from a debut album.

  "LoveGame" (Interscope

  ) rose from No. 2 to the top spot, marking Lady GaGa's third No. 1, after "Just Dance" (two weeks) and "Poker Face" (five weeks). The three songs appear on her top five Billboard 200 album, "The Fame." The set has sold 1.16 million copies to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

  The dance-pop singer-songwriter, born Stefani Germanotta, joins just two prior artists in accomplishing the triumphant triple play.

  In 1993-94, Ace of Base reigned consecutively on Mainstream Top 40 with three cuts from its debut set, "The Sign": "All That She Wants," the title cut (No. 1 for a chart-record 14 weeks) and "Don't Turn Around."

  In 2002-03, Avril Lavigne repeated the feat with a trio of tracks from her debut release, "Let Go": "Complicated" (eight weeks), "Sk8er Boi" (one week) and "I'm With You" (four weeks).

  On the Billboard Hot 100, "Just Dance" spent three weeks at No. 1, and "Poker Face" led for one frame. As of last week, "LoveGame" was bulleted at No. 5 on the Hot 100, its highest ranking to date.

  The country singer's "Love Story" has won BMI's song of the year award.

  The music rights organization says the 20-year-old is the youngest songwriter ever

  to win pop song of the year.

  The BMI Pop Music Awards were presented Tuesday in Los Angeles.

  John Fogerty was named a BMI Icon, and Warner-Tamerlane Publishing Corp. was honored as publisher of the year.

  RedOne won his first songwriter of the year award. He was honored for his work on four songs: Sean Kingston's "Fire Burning" and Lady Gaga's "Just Dance," "LoveGame" and "Poker Face."

• Hannah Montana, Mariah Carey hit U.S. singles chart

  LOS ANGELES (Billboard) – Hannah Montana edged out Mariah Carey on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart Thursday, as Miley Cyrus' TV alter ego claimed her first top-10 entry.

• Black Eyed Peas claim top 2 singles in U.S

  NEW YORK (Billboard) – The Black Eyed Peas held on to the top two spots on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for a second week on Thursday.

  "I Gotta Feeling" led the field, while "Boom Boom Pow&quo

  t; followed at No. 2. The latter track ruled the Hot 100 for 12 weeks until "I Gotta Feeling" replaced it last week. Both come from the hip-hop act's album "The E.N.D.," which fell to No. 5 on the Billboard 200 Wednesday after three weeks at No. 1.

  Elsewhere on the Hot 100, Drake's "Best I Ever Had" stayed at No. 3, Keri Hilson's "Knock You Down," featuring Kanye West and Ne-Yo, at No. 4, and Lady GaGa's "LoveGame" at No. 5.

  "That's Not My Name" by the Ting Tings re-entered the Hot 100 at a new high of No. 45, bolstered by increased radio airplay and digital downloads.

  On Billboard's Hot Digital Songs chart, Michael Jackson held down five of the top 10 slots, led by "Man in the Mirror" at No. 2. The Peas' "I Gotta Feeling" was No. 1.
