• Director Jake Kasdan enrolls for "Bad Teacher"

• Jason Segel joins "Bad Teacher" faculty

  LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – Jason Segel and John Michael Higgins are going back to school for "Bad Teacher," a comedy starring Cameron Diaz.

  The Columbia Pictures project follows a foul-mouthed, go

  ld-digging seventh-grade teacher who, after being dumped by her current boyfriend, sets her sights on a colleague (Lucy Punch) who is dating the school's model teacher.

  Segel plays not the model teacher, who is not yet cast, but rather the gym teacher. Higgins plays the principal, a man named Wally Snur.

  Filming starts next month in Los Angeles. Jake Kasdan directs.

  Segel, one of the stars of "How I Met Your Mother," was last seen on the big-screen in "I Love You, Man" and next appears in "Gulliver's Travels" with Jack Black.

  Higgins is a master thief in the scene stealing world, with small but juicy roles in movies like "Couples Retreat," "The Ugly Truth" and "The Break-Up."

  LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – British actress Lucy Punch has been cast opposite Cameron Diaz in the black comedy "Bad Teacher," which Jake Kasdan will start shooting next month in Los Angeles.

  lumbia Pictures project revolves around a foul-mouthed, conniving seventh-grade teacher (Diaz) who pursues a colleague after being dumped by her sugar daddy. The new romantic interest brings her into conflict with Amy Squirrel (Punch), the school's model teacher.

  Punch next appears in the Jay Roach-directed comedy "Dinner for Schmucks," which hits theaters in July via Paramount/DreamWorks. After that, she stars in Woody Allen's "You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger," scheduled for a September release.

  LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – Justin Timberlake is reuniting with former girlfriend Cameron Diaz on the big screen.

  uot; ending a casting search that took the better part of the new year.

  Diaz stars as a foul-mouthed, gold-digging seventh-grade teacher who, after being dumped by her boyfriend, sets her sights on a colleague (Lucy Punch) who is dating a substitute teacher (Timberlake), who also is the scion of a watch fortune.

  Filming begins this month in Los Angeles. Jake Kasdan is directing the Columbia project.

  After spending time in supporting parts in such movies as "Alpha Dog" and "The Love Guru," Timberlake seems to be making a concerted push into larger movie roles. He just wrapped a co-starring role in Columbia's "The Social Network." He and Diaz dated for a couple of years until early 2007.

  Also on board "Bad Teacher" are Jason Segel, John Michael Higgins, Molly Shannon and Eric Stonestreet ("Modern Family"). As for the Timberlake role, contenders included John Krasinski, Joel McHale, Timothy Olyphant, Guy Pearce, Adam Scott and relative newcomer Cheyenne Jackson.

• Jason Segel, Ed Helms high on "Home"

  LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – Jason Segel and Ed Helms are starring in "Jeff Who Lives at Home," a stoner comedy chronicling a day in the life of two brothers.

  Segel plays the titular loser, while He

  lms' character is more together but overbearing. The role of their mother is being cast; Judy Greer is in talks to play Helms' wife.

  The picture, from writer-directors Mark and Jay Duplass, is in the process of being set up at Paramount. Shooting is set to begin next month in Louisiana.

  Helms (NBC's "The Office") has been making the most of his starring turn in "The Hangover." He recently wrapped Fox Searchlight's comedy "Cedar Rapids," and just became attached to star in Universal's comedy "Central Intelligence."

  Segel (CBS' "How I Met Your Mother") recently boarded the Columbia comedy "Bad Teacher," starring Cameron Diaz. He next appears on the big screen in "Gulliver's Travels," starring Jack Black, and "Despicable Me," set for a July release.
