• Mary-Kate Olsen Gets Beastly with Vanessa Hudgens

  Los Angeles (E! Online) – Vanessa Hudgens better watch it: Mary-Kate Olsen has joined the cast of Beastly, a teen romance

  update on The Beauty and the Beast tale, according to Variety.

  Olsen reportedly puts a curse on Alex Pettyfer, who then becomes everything he'd ever hoped not to be.

  Can't wait for the novelization.

  In other casting news sure to please kids who don't have the patience for CliffsNotes:

  • There's going to be a high school comedy retelling of The Scarlet Letter, says Variety. If nothing else, Easy A already makes the grade when it comes to casting: It's got everybody in it: Emma Stone, Amanda Bynes, Thomas Haden Church, Stanley Tucci, Patricia Clarkson, Lisa Kudrow, Malcolm McDowell, Penn Badgley and—hello!—Twilight's Cam Gigandet are among the featured actors.

  • Sigourney Weaver is getting Disneyfied for You Again, playing a mean relative in the comedy starring Kristen Bell, per Variety. The former Alien battler is also in talks to join Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Seth Rogen in the E.T. comedy Paul.

  • And in the week's least definitive but most intriguing casting news, Variety reports that noted Lakers fan Jack Nicholson is considering replacing Bill Murray in director James L. Brooks' as yet untitled romantic comedy starring Paul Rudd, Reese Witherspoon and Owen Wilson.

  Details forthcoming, though probably after the NBA Finals have concluded.

• Miley May Cut Footloose; Chace Definitely Will

  Los Angeles (E! Online) – Not everybody can star in Footloose, but they certainly seem to be trying.

  On the same d

  ay that Paramount finally confirmed what we've been telling you for weeks—that Chace Crawford would headline the remake of the song-and-dance extravaganza—Miley Cyrus has surfaced as the latest hot young thing being considered for the leading-lady role.

  "They've expressed interest in Miley for the part," a source close to the tween queen said.

  A source close to the production further added that Cyrus "is definitely in the mix."

  As it stands, that mix currently includes Hayden Panettiere, Amanda Bynes and Dancing With the Stars pro Julianne Hough, all of whom have auditioned in recent weeks for the part of Ariel Moore, the independent daughter of a preacher man, originated in the 1984 classic by Lori Singer.

  One starlet who hasn't auditioned for the role: Cyrus. Presumably because her singing, dancing and audience-pulling prowess have already been proven.

  While Cyrus' reps had no comment on the potential casting coup, it may be a bit premature to think she'll sign on the dotted line. Her schedule is booked solid right now.

  The Disney star will soon be heading down to Georgia, with production on the adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' as yet unreleased book The Last Song scheduled to begin June 15. And then she's back to her day job as Hannah Montana.

  Footloose begins shooting in March 2010, Paramount says (making the previously announced release date of June 18, 2010, unlikely).

  Meanwhile, after more than a month of courtship, the studio has finally locked up Crawford.

  As we first reported, the Gossip Girl guy had been in line for the role of small-town scofflaw Ren McCormack since Zac Efron got cold feet and dropped out.

  Crawford and another Dancing With the Stars pro, Julianne's brother Derek Hough, were among those to audition for the role originated by Kevin Bacon.

• Audrina's Mum on Her Hills at Maxim Party

  Los Angeles (E! Online) - She may seem short on brains, but Audrina Patridge definitely has a hot body. Maxim named her No. 74 in

  their annual Hot 100 List, and she hit their bash on Wednesday night to celebrate her sexy status.

  But since pics of Audrina in a teeny bikini on the set of Into the Blue 2 popped up, some people have been speculating if she got her hills enhanced à la Heidi Montag.

  "Leave my boobs alone!" she answered when I asked if there were any rumors she wanted to clear up about her crazy cleavage.

  Maybe she's smarter than she seems on the show? Speaking of, she also told me she's still living with Lauren Conrad despite the roommate issues shown last season. I know I'll sleep easier at night now that that's settled.

  Also spotted at Paramount Studios for the Maxim party: Jeremy Piven, chatting up a tall brunette, Kevin Connolly and Amanda Bynes.
